Summary

It was good。 It held my interest。 Unfortunately I kept comparing it to Twilight。 Edmond is too close to Edward hahahaha

Kind of disappointed with how the book turned out, first couple chapters were good but I kind of dreaded finishing it bc it got boring 😔 The last couple chapters weren’t too bad, just not what I was expecting

Woof。This one was ROUGH。 While the plot seemed intriguing and with the right development could have been good, it just didn't work for me。 I've sadly read better fanfics。If felt choppy, with no character development, childish (even 13 year old me wouldn't have have enjoyed it), and like a book filled with things from other popular vampire books。 I also hate insta-love。 :/ Woof。This one was ROUGH。 While the plot seemed intriguing and with the right development could have been good, it just didn't work for me。 I've sadly read better fanfics。If felt choppy, with no character development, childish (even 13 year old me wouldn't have have enjoyed it), and like a book filled with things from other popular vampire books。 I also hate insta-love。 :/ 。。。more

This was alright。 I liked the plot but the twist could have been a little less predictable。 High hopes for the Revelations in 2023。

This book just wasn’t my cup of ☕️ The story itself was simple, predictable and at times ridiculous。 The only reason I picked this up was to read about vampires, and while ’Belle Morte’ delivers just that, I find that it was just too juvenile for my liking。 Here are the things I did not like: 1) The pale skinned vampires。 I’m completely done with that trope。2) How awkwardly similar this book is to ’Twilight’。 Like it’s bad。 Edmond? Edward。 Drawn together by a force they couldn’t hope to understand。 3) Vampire bites are only pleasant if you are relaxed 🙄 So you give me a book with vampires, but our mc spends the majority of the book bashing vampires, cursing them out and cringing her bloody lights out every time she gets bit。 That’s just wrong dude。4) The insta best friends & insta romance。 Like come on。 No one makes friends who risk their life and standing for you after only a couple of days of knowing you, especially when they’ve all been chosen for a once in a life time opportunity to help themselves and their family。 If I was there, I’d be like “Renie who?! I don’t know that girl。” 👋🏼5) I didn’t like the constant perspective switching。 It gave me a freaking headache。 Either make it first person or third person。I didn’t mind Renie’s characterization as a whole but she was just really one dimensional。 She doesn’t like vampires, she always tenses when they bite her making it an uncomfortable part to read。 She thinks they’re all disgusting creatures and believes that they did something bad to her sister。 She also storms around the mansion like she owns the place, pissing off 400+ year old vampires without barely any consequences。 They pretty much let this girl do whatever she wants。 I get having determination but sometimes it came off as reckless。 I did like her two main friends but like I said, they were just too perfect。 Renie and Edmond have great chemistry but it was for no other reason other than I haven’t felt this way with anyone in X amount of years。 She hates us vampires so that’s why I love her。 Her blood is special and tastes better than the others 🥴 Besides her determination, I can’t see anything quite that redeeming about Renie。 I will give it to Edmond though。 He had his moments。 Although they were PG13 moments。 *sighs* So obviously this book wasn’t my vibe, but I don’t think it was Renie’s either。 She wanted out just as much as I did。 2。5 。。。more

such a different read than what I'm used to。 I don't normally read vamp books but this mystery and how everything was written and unfolded had me in a choke hold。 can't wait for the next book! such a different read than what I'm used to。 I don't normally read vamp books but this mystery and how everything was written and unfolded had me in a choke hold。 can't wait for the next book! 。。。more

4。5 stars。 I really enjoyed this vampire story。 It was different than others Ive read (but still had everything I love in a classic vampire/human love story) and Im thankful for that。 It had forbidden love, passion, intrigue, mystery, violence, epic friendships and a badass heroine who would not take any crap from anyone。 I cannot wait for book 2。

3。5*I felt like the book was well-paced until it wasn't。The characters were enjoyable。 I always love a good vampire book and I liked the storyline premise。Moderately predictable。 But I'd probably read the next installment。 3。5*I felt like the book was well-paced until it wasn't。The characters were enjoyable。 I always love a good vampire book and I liked the storyline premise。Moderately predictable。 But I'd probably read the next installment。 。。。more

this book was interesting however it felt unfinished。 I know it’s a series, but rather then feeling like a a first book in a series with a cliffhanger at the end, it feels like nothing was finished in book one and that it’s only the first half or first 2/3rds of book 1。

It was f*cking amazing。 The ending on one part was what I expected。 But I loved this book every step of the way and can’t wait for the next one next year。 Finished it in four days, which is a record for me。 That’s how good it is。

This book wasn't my cup of tea。 The plot was vague and I was wanting more from some parts that were skimmed over。 There was some romance, but very predictable。 It wasn't terrible, but not for me。 It is worth a read for you to decide your own opinion。 This book wasn't my cup of tea。 The plot was vague and I was wanting more from some parts that were skimmed over。 There was some romance, but very predictable。 It wasn't terrible, but not for me。 It is worth a read for you to decide your own opinion。 。。。more

I kept on seeing this book in target so I finally gave in and read it since the cover was pretty。 Now I’m highly upset because I thought it was a standalone, not a series。 It was also just not great。

I read this book while it was on Wattpad and I can tell you it was amazing。 I do highly recommend reading this book if you love vampires and mystery。

This was an interesting idea for a vampire novel。 Unfortunately the execution of it wasn’t something I enjoyed。 With little to no background info on the characters and jumping around plot wise I felt annoyed and slightly confused throughout this book。 You could tell it was a debut novel and I wish the author luck in their next book。

Personally I loved this book - as evidenced by my 5 star rating。 I’ve been a fan of vampire stories for as long as I can remember - having read Bram Stoker’s Dracula as a kid。 And over the years I’ve read all sorts of vampire stories。 I freely admit I do tend to rate them higher just because of my long-standing fascination with the subject matter。 With that said, this book grabbed my full attention pretty early on。 The world is set with vampires having revealed themselves to humans in a show of Personally I loved this book - as evidenced by my 5 star rating。 I’ve been a fan of vampire stories for as long as I can remember - having read Bram Stoker’s Dracula as a kid。 And over the years I’ve read all sorts of vampire stories。 I freely admit I do tend to rate them higher just because of my long-standing fascination with the subject matter。 With that said, this book grabbed my full attention pretty early on。 The world is set with vampires having revealed themselves to humans in a show of heroism, resulting in vampires being idolized and set up as celebrities almost。 They have fan groups and houses and a donor system where humans volunteer to live in the vampire house & donate blood, in exchange for an opulent lifestyle。 But relationships between vampires & humans are forbidden, beyond donating blood that is。 Renie’s sister disappears as a donor so naturally Renie goes searching for her。 What follows is an interesting mystery full of soul searching by Renie。 What lengths will a sister go to? Can a girl who hates vampires ever get past a brutal twist of fate that will forever change things? I can’t believe I have to wait over a year to see where this story goes next。 。。。more

I picked up this book because the cover looked amazing and the story was intriguing。 Also I love vampires。 Bella did a great job with giving the characters their own personalities and relatable traits。 Also Edmond is WOWZA。 Once I got about a quarter in I was hooked and had to know how it ended。 The cliffhanger was great and I am really looking forward to the second book。 Great job!

Okay… maybe I’m crazy but i really enjoyed this one。 After reading a ton of negative reviews, i decided to read it anyways because it has been SO long since a new YA vampire series was started and i have been waiting。 I actually really enjoyed the concept of the vampire-celebrity aspect。 I will agree with others that the non-consensual part was a bit off-putting, but it didn’t defer me from continuing。 And i KNOW so many people were not impressed with the forbidden romance part of this, but don’ Okay… maybe I’m crazy but i really enjoyed this one。 After reading a ton of negative reviews, i decided to read it anyways because it has been SO long since a new YA vampire series was started and i have been waiting。 I actually really enjoyed the concept of the vampire-celebrity aspect。 I will agree with others that the non-consensual part was a bit off-putting, but it didn’t defer me from continuing。 And i KNOW so many people were not impressed with the forbidden romance part of this, but don’t most YA books have a predictable forbidden romance aspect?? I really loved this book。 Well put together, kind of hard to get into in the beginning but the plot moves by fast。 Can’t go wrong with hot vampires, and the background is super well thought out。 I cannot wait for the next book to come out in 2023 :)

What to say。。。。The fact that this was published by Wattpad books should've been an indication, but I am a true believer that there were some good stories on there however, this was not one of them。 This was the most predictable and unrealistic story I might've ever read。 To make matters worse this is not a standalone like I originally thought so now I will never know what's gonna happen。 Very disappointed, especially because the premise sounded good。 What to say。。。。The fact that this was published by Wattpad books should've been an indication, but I am a true believer that there were some good stories on there however, this was not one of them。 This was the most predictable and unrealistic story I might've ever read。 To make matters worse this is not a standalone like I originally thought so now I will never know what's gonna happen。 Very disappointed, especially because the premise sounded good。 。。。more

Predictable but I liked the charactersI read this instead of paying attention to the ludicrously boring meeting。I didn't super love this book but it did keep me sane as my phone battery dipped lower and lower。I also didn't super care for how predictable it was, but again, it kept me sane so I can't really complain。 But I liked the characters。 I liked them pretty well for the most part。 I didn't dislike any of them。 I will say that I'm pretty sure Google Translate was used because there were some Predictable but I liked the charactersI read this instead of paying attention to the ludicrously boring meeting。I didn't super love this book but it did keep me sane as my phone battery dipped lower and lower。I also didn't super care for how predictable it was, but again, it kept me sane so I can't really complain。 But I liked the characters。 I liked them pretty well for the most part。 I didn't dislike any of them。 I will say that I'm pretty sure Google Translate was used because there were some sections of French where I squinted because that isn't how they'd say it。 Now, granted, it could be that the author does speak French but speaks more slang French than I do。 Or maybe she speaks a different dialect。 It's entirely possible。 In which case, I'd apologize。 But if not, she should find someone who speaks the language to double check。 But, no。 I liked this book。 I'll probably read the second one because I'm vaguely curious about the consequences。 。。。more
